Love is more than a feeling you feel
When emotions get out of control
Or a rush of adrenaline mix
When one's passions take hold of the soul.
Love is more than a word that is thought
When a touch or a look is supplied
Or a warm fuzzy feeling that beckons
To build up your ego with pride.
Love does not grow in a vacuum
Its nature gives all without price
Not like this world's selfish offer
That demands in return its own prize.
Love is a verb wrapped up as a Gift
It's a message of infinite worth
No one can selfishly hoard it away
It's the seed of God's priceless New Birth.
So give it away to all who have need
Its a balm for the wounded in heart
Then like a spring in a desert you'll find
Rivers of Love that will never depart.

A CHRISTMAS PRAYER
O God of Love, we stand amazed
That One so pure in radiant Light
Should stoop to offer saving grace
To our rebellious human race.
O Lamb of God how can it be
That flesh should clothe Your Deity
And birth from Mary's womb, a Plan
Your Blood, the Gift, for sinful man!
O Breath of God, Whose Spirit fills
The barrenness of our human heart
Remove all dross, ignite the flame
That we might glorify Your Name!
O Church of God, the hour's near
The Bridegroom soon will call us Home!
Proclaim His Word, we soon shall meet
To cast our crowns at Jesus' feet!

THE PAIN OF REJECTION
A cheerful look may sometimes mask a troubled heart
A friend may even fail to see you're torn apart! The pain that brought those tears that no one knows
Are chains that bind the mind where struggle grows.
A child unwanted and passed on from home to home
And like a waif is left to fend alone
Will wrestle all their life to ease rejection's pain
And sometimes think that he alone bears all the blame!
Each life is marked by scars we try in vain to hide
We spend our days rebuilding broken dreams inside.
Is there a Hand to guide us through this maze of night
To shun excuses and take hold of freedom's light?
There is a place where hearts can shed their heavy load
It's at the blood-stained cross we call the Calvary Road
Christ was rejected and He knows the pain
And only He can turn our loss to gain.

THE COLOR OF LOVE
I Look for a picture that life can express
The feelings of rapture and sweet tenderness
Of Beautiful flowers so vibrant in Spring
Is love the real color of these tender things?
The sun turns to yellow against the blue sky
The grass looks so green where the sheep daily lie
Have a boy and a girl holding hands in the park
Found the color of love in the depth of their heart?
The way of a man with a maid Proverb's states
Is hidden in mystery where a couple partakes
When nuptial vows have been pledged before God
Does that color-love flow through life on earth's sod?
I see Calvary's Hill on a blood-splattered Cross
Where forgiveness is granted in place of my loss
When I feel His compassion and fullness of grace
I find the bright color of love in His face.

FREE AT LAST
Once I lived for earthly pleasures
By sin's blindness I was bound
Chained by guilt & things they offered
Only darkness hung around.
Then I heard that Jesus loved me
That He came to set me free
And His death for my redemption
Was the price for you and me.
Oh the pain He bore on Calvary!
From His lips He spoke my name
"Please forgive this guilty sinner!"
Then He died to take my blame.
When I saw the God of Glory
Pouring out His life for me
I cried out in faith for mercy
Then He came and set me free.
Now I stand redeemed, forgiven
All the past is wiped away.
To the Lamb be all the glory
I am saved by grace today!
