MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE

The course of life is like a race
And every man is on the team
Its valleys or its moutaintops
Are strewn with obstacles between.

Decisions come in various ways
And are the signs that mark the path
But only those who rightly choose
Can see the value of their task.

Some find the race too burdensome
While others seek escape from pain
But only those who follow strong
Will not have run their race in vain.

There is a road each man must take
And only two around each bend
There's one that leads to heaven's Shore
The other to a Christless end.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith... (Hebrews 12:1-2a)

Who are eyes are fixed on will help us "run well to the end," eh, Dad?

Nice poem, Dad!

Thank you!
I'm actually getting quite a lot of comments - it just takes me a bit to approve them. :D I think I'll stop having them need approval since ya'll are such nice commenters. :)

By the way... I forgot to say this last time, but this poem... is simply beautiful. And so true.

"Some find the race too burdensome
While others seek escape from pain
But only those who follow strong
Will not have run their race in vain." <-- my favorite part - makes me wanna stand tall and actually GO to the moon as you suggest. <3
