THE SOUL SET FREE!

As I knelt before His presence
Wrapped in garments stained by sin
I could not look up to heaven
For the shame revealed within.

Then the Lamb of God Incarnate
Stood in robes of dazzling white
As His holy justice vanquished
Every pretense from His sight.

Tears of anguish broke upon me
Waves of guilt exposed my soul
As repentance ceased my wanderings
I became as white as snow.

Then His words of love came flowing
From above the Mercy Seat
Where the nail prints of His justice
Offered grace for my defeat.

Shouts of praise began to fill me
Freedom's song began to flow
As the honor and the glory
Rose to Christ who loved me so.

SHATTERED DREAMS

Broken, crushed and torn apart
Phantom dreams and empty heart
Feeling cursed and full of shame
Life seems like a losing game.

Pressures mount on every side
Looking for some place to hide
Work and family torn apart
Hardly knowing where to start.

Corporate ladder to success
Seeking fame and happiness
Finding nothing at the crest
Just an empty heart at best.

There's one thing I long to find
For a deeply troubled mind
Can God take a shattered past
Fill a purpose that will last?

Jesus Christ is what we need
He will guide and He will lead
Bringing burdens to the Cross
Will replace all of our loss.

FEELING SHAME

Living in the shadows looking in
The stage of life is bleak and grim
Where masks are worn without a name
And actors hide to cover shame.

Whence did this awful play begin
Is this the prize from Eden's sin?
Must we now walk the shadow-lands
Like phantoms roam by ocean sands?

O wretched heart by memories cast
That seeks release from haunted past
What is the key to my release?
When from its grip can I find peace?

Ti's then the Curtain splits in two
A rugged Cross comes into view
The Stage Director takes His stand
With nail prints seen in feet and hand.

A radiant Light the prisoners see
The only hope to be set free
Then from the depth of guilt and shame
True freedom flows through Jesus' name.

IN HIS PRESENCE

As I knelt before His presence
With my garments wrapped in shame
I could not look up to heaven
For I knew I was to blame.

Then the Lamb of God incarnate
Stood in robes of spotless white
As His holy justice vanquished
All pretence before His sight.

Then His words of love came flowing
From above the Mercy Seat
Where the nail prints of His justice
Offered grace for my defeat.

Tears of anguish broke upon me
Waves of guilt exposed my soul
As repentance ceased my wanderings
I became as white as snow.

Shouts of praise began to fill me
Freedom's song began to flow
As the honor and the Glory
Came to Christ Who loved me so.
