A MARRIAGE VOW

What makes a marriage last through life
Is there a secret to be found?
Does chance alone fulfill this dream
Or are there mysteries yet unseen?

When couples meet becoming friends
And love is stirred within their hearts
Their differences become the stage
For both to write a brand new page.

A man's attraction for a wife
Is built with passions from the mind
But in response a woman's need
Is affirmation's tender deed.

As marriage plans fall into place
Two hearts must seek to join as one
But conflict comes if either mate
Build walls with locked-up iron gates.

Love is a triad that God planned
The "eros"man must understand
That "philos" builds a wife's esteem
When Jesus' love is made supreme.

The marriage vow is then complete
As man and wife kneel at His feet
Committed vows communicate
A life-long pledge to validate.
