THE CHRISTMAS MYSTERY

A LITLE SEED WAY BACK IN TIME
BEFORE THE WORLD WAS FLUNG IN SPACE
BECAME THE SUBJECT OF GOD'S PLAN
FOR RESCUING THE HUMAN RACE.

OMNISCIENCE SAW THE FALL OF MAN

WITH ALL THE CONSEQUENCE OF SIN
THERE WAS NO HOPE OF ANY KIND
BECAUSE OF DEATH THAT REIGNED WITHIN.

SO GOD DEVISED A METHOD RARE

AND HAD THE PROPHETS WRITE IT DOWN
A VIRGIN WOULD CONCEIVE A CHILD
IN BETHLEHEM'S SMALL JUDAH TOWN.

THE SEED IN MYSTERY WAS REVEALED

THE HOLY SPIRIT, THREE-IN-ONE
COMBINED IN FLESH THE LIVING WORD
AND PLACED IN MARY'S WOMB, A SON.

HOW STRANGE THE VIRGIN MUST HAVE FELT

ON HEARING GABRIEL SHARE THE NEWS
BUT JOSEPH'S DOUBTS WERE NOT AS CLEAR
SINCE IN HIS HEART WERE OTHER VIEWS.

WHEN GOD'S PREDESTINED MOMENT CAME

ETERNITY WAS PRESSED IN TIME
THE SEED BECAME AN EMBREO
AND HEAVEN'S STAR BEGAN TO SHINE.

WHAT MUSIC MUST HAVE FILLED THE SKY

AS ANGEL CHOIRS ANNOUNCED HIS BIRTH
SO WHEN THE SHEPHERDS SAW HIM THERE
PROCLAIMED HIS COMING TO THE EARTH.

THIS CHRISTMAS MYSTERY ONCE CONCEALED

IS OFFERED AS GOD'S GIFT TO ALL
SO EVERY PEOPLE-GROUP ON EARTH
CAN KNOW THE SAVIOR WHEN THEY CALL.

MYSTERY MOMENTS

Mystery moments are the gemstones

That are found by searching hearts

Digging deep within the mine shafts

Of God's Word in all its parts.

Genesis through Revelation

Holds the key each wonder shares

From the mystery of creation

To God's call from earthly cares.

Eden's mystery tells the story

Of the chasm caused by sin

And the promise of a Savior

That would offer peace within.

Priest and prophets shared their vision

Of Messiah's virgin birth

Of His death and resurrection

His return again to earth.

Yet the story most intriguing

Is the mystery of the Church

His indwelling holy Presence

With its waiting Bride on earth.

Heaven's Bridegroom is the Savior

Who laid down His life for you

You can have a mystery moment

If you trust the Savior too.

LOVE'S MYSTERY

I do not understand the mystery of love
Nor do I claim to know what makes it bloom and grow.

Is love a Cupid's glance that sparks a gambler's chance?
Or is a touch to blame that sets the heart aflame?

Does marriage give a clue that seals a kiss for two?
Or is conjugal's embrace like soaring into space?

Love is more than simple words. Its actions form the frame
It gives without return and doesn't seek the same.

To really understand the mystery power of love
The spirit must embrace the fullness of God's grace.

It's through the death of Christ this priceless Gift was made
So sinful man could know His grace and peace below.

So if you really want to have this mystery love
Go to the One Who holds the key. He reigns above!

Then you will have a clearer view each day you live
Of mystery's grace so others know God's love below.

MY SPECIAL FRIEND

I'm thinking today
Of a friend that I love
It's a special gift
God gives from above
We walk hand in hand
And our hearts beat as one
As we share thoughts together
With laughter and fun.

Distance may keep us
From mystery's embrace
But no one can tear us
From loves special place
It's a secret that no one can share
No matter how lonely
I sense you are there
As my special friend.

If God should provide
A way to be near
So distance can't rob us
From moments of cheer
I'll ever be thankful
To walk with my friend
Through life's little moments
Way down to the end.

So quietly rest
In the Shepherd's embrace
And don't be discouraged
His plan is in place
I'll walk right beside you
I'll whisper your name
I love you, my dearest
My life's special friend.
